Applications

Redox flow battery systems are suitable for stationary applications only.

By separating capacity (electrolyte) and power (stack), both parameters can be scaled independently of each other - this allows battery systems from a few kilowatts to the megawatt range to be realized, preferably with a scaling of 4 to 12 (power to capacity).

Fields of application

alt
Intermediate storage of regeneratively generated electricity
Integration of storage systems in open area PV plants or wind farms for hourly or daily storage of electricity
alt
Autonomous power supply
Use in stand-alone systems and off-grid applications
alt
Use as quarter storage
Installation in urban areas for the realization of decentralized energy supply concepts
alt
Optimization of energy consumption in industrial and commercial enterprises
Use for reducing peak loads (peak shaving) or intermediate storage of self-generated electricity (load shifting day-night)
alt
Buffer storage for fast-charging infrastructure
Use as part of the expansion of the charging infrastructure for e-vehicles, ideally at locations with power-limited grid connections
